Tasks and tasks assigned to the Legal Division

1- Representing the college in the competent courts in every right it has or against it, attending the police stations in every matter that requires it, and initiating civil and criminal lawsuits, especially against forged students, which amounted to 13 or thirteen cases.

2. Representing the college before the Integrity Commission in all its branches for the purpose of recording statements against the forgers from the students and claimants to be graduates of our college.

3. Audit the contracts referred to the Legal Division and express the opinion thereon, and then ratify them.

4. Following up on matters related to political dismissals, informing them of the decisions of the Political Dismissed Committee at the Ministry and the Verification Committee of the Council of Ministers, and answering the letters received against them.

5. Conducting the notifications received against the affiliates in the college, whether they are from the courts, enforcement departments, and other state departments.

6. Participating in the work of the committees, preparing minutes and keeping their priorities, including:

Student Transition Committee

Salary Scale Committee

Committee for Opening and Analyzing Bids for Tenders Submitted to the College

Committee for Determining and Estimating the Damage Caused to the College as a Result of the Contractor for the Restoration of the College's Roofs

Faculty Inventory Committee

Bidding Committee for College Sites

Committee for the Sale and Lease of State Funds

Promotions Committee

Legal advice is provided to all faculty formations wherever requested, and the legal opinion is expressed in the matters presented to them, and they are provided with the instructions and laws they request in support of the legal opinion.

Editing and printing books related to legal work and all the above matters, and keeping the instructions and laws issued in the Iraqi Chronicle newspaper.

First: Legal Division

It is the division that supervises all works and legal cases and prepares investigative and audit committees, guarantees and agencies of all kinds, as well as pleading in cases related to the college before the competent courts, and the division is divided into two units:

Legal Advisory Unit

Rights and Claims Unit

Second: Duties of the Director of the Legal Division:

1. Providing opinion and advice on legal matters.

2. Preparing the study of the draft laws of the university and the various Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and expressing an opinion thereon.

3. Audit the contracts related to the college, express an opinion on the contracts presented to the division by the college, and ratify contracts of all kinds.

4. Representing the college before the competent courts and judicial authorities.

5- Following up on the mechanism of distributing and allocating lands and housing units to the employees of the Ministry's college, and then approaching the university/legal affairs department.

6. Contributing to the committees that require legal membership (general inventory of the faculty – inventory of war damages – promotion and bonus – salary determination – accountability and justice committee – political dismissal committee – expulsion committee – student discipline committee – bidding committees – contributing to the number of committees referred to the legal investigation and audit division and then implementing the committee's recommendations).

7. Any other work assigned by the Division.

Third: Duties of the employees working in the Legal Division.

1. Organizing the work of the outgoing and incoming divisions.

2- Writing correspondence related to the work of the college and answering the inquiries of the university and the rest of the relevant formations.

3. Organizing guarantees, agencies, and undertakings related to the work of the Division.

4. Preserving and archiving the Division's mail.

5- Preparing all the necessary priorities with the official mail.

6. Guarantees and undertakings related to the college as shown below:

A. Guarantees referred to the Legal Division (sponsorships of primary and postgraduate students (employees and non-employees), sponsorships of affiliates who enjoy study vacations within the Republic of Iraq, loans for teachers and employees) and all types of guarantees.

B. Employee Commitments (Maternity Leave, Five Years Leave, Long Vacations, Marital Pledge Leave)

C. Commitments for Students (Postgraduate Studies, Preliminary Studies)

D. Commitments on accountability and justice.

7. Agencies for receiving salaries for the faculty members.

8. Export the clearance of the college employees (transfer, placement, long vacation)

Fourth: The units that make up the Legal Division.

The Legal Division consists of the following units:

1. The Law and Claims Unit: The employee in this unit represents the college before the competent courts.

2- Legal Consultation Unit: The employee in this unit expresses the opinion requested of him by the departments and divisions of the college and answers oral and written legal inquiries.
